Practice accuracy calculator
Enter how many questions you got right in each section of a practice test. See your accuracy section by section, which one is costing you most, and what to practise next.
Your accuracy
This is raw accuracy on your practice questions — not a JFT-Basic score and not a chance of passing.
How to use it
- Take a practice set — the free 24-question practice test or one of the ten full mock exams.
- Count the questions you got right and the ones you attempted in each section.
- Enter them here. The lowest percentage is where your next few days of study should go.
A worked example
On a full mock you get 10 of 12 in Script and Vocabulary, 9 of 12 in Conversation and Expression, 6 of 12 in Listening and 8 of 12 in Reading. That is 33 of 48, or 69% overall — and Listening, at 50%, is the section to work on first, starting with the listening guide.
Why there is no score
JFT-Basic is reported on a 10–250 scale, with A1 from 145, A2.1 from 175 and A2.2 from 200. The official score is calculated by statistical equating, which the Japan Foundation does not publish, so no percentage can be turned into it honestly — least of all a percentage from practice questions of a different difficulty. Our full mock exams show an estimate, clearly labelled as one; for the official explanation, see theJapan Foundation's JFT-Basic page. To plan the weeks ahead instead, use the study planner.
